As part of Sacred Pathways at the Cathedral, Art Exhibits will be on
display each season oriented around the theme of the season.
Art Exhibits will be open to the public Monday through Thursday from 10am until 2pm,
in addition to all the times during the services listed in our calendar and Sunday mornings.
Every third Sunday of the month at 7pm, join us for an opportunity to meet the featured artist and learn more about how they practice their craft.

Sandy Sheleberger: Shifting Sands, Saphire Skies
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Sandy is an artist and instructor. She specializes in fiber arts, surface design and encaustics. Her work has been in several publications and juried art exhibitions. She took her first quilting class in 1984, and began to see quilting as an art form and a means of self-expression.
Her work has been included in prestigious exhibits such as Quilt National, Fiberarts International, Quilts=Art-Quilts, Visions Art Museum in San Diego, CA and Ohio Craft Museum. Sandy loves teaching and sharing her knowledge and passion for the creative process.
ARTIST STATEMENT
“My art is an expression of my internal dialog. I love process, pattern, texture and repetition. I work intuitively until the design feels right to me. I strive to create a mood or energy in my work that sparks a connection. It is this interaction with the art and viewer that brings personal meaning to my life.”

Carol Posch Comstock: Ice Bliss
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Carol Posch Comstock is an Erie, Pennsylvania-based artist and educator whose contemplative work emerges through an intuitive approach to the creative process. Her versatile studio practice emphasizes mystical, layered photographic images often blended with mixed media, alongside explorations into the sacred geometry of snowflakes and mandalas and fine fiber arts. A certified art educator with an extensive history of teaching art as meditation to all ages, Carol has exhibited her work widely across both local and national platforms in numerous solo and competitive juried exhibitions.
She is a longtime member of the Northwestern Artists Association, The Lake Erie Fiber Arts Guild, and a founding member of The Labyrinth Society. Her formal art and photo education was completed at Edinboro University of Pennsylvania and Ohio University.

ARTIST STATEMENT
“Be still with yourself until the object of your attention affirms your presence.” — Minor White
My work has always been about contemplation. The observation required for drawing taught me to see the essence of an object, absorbing the light, shadow, texture, and pattern before me. I look to the figurative and natural world to create imagery that opens my heart and soul. While capturing a perfect moment with the click of the shutter is thrilling, there are times when I later discover something deeper waiting to be revealed—and I am compelled to continue. My process is to delve into mystery, working intuitively to reach the final form of the piece. My earliest photographic influences were Minor White, Jerry Uelsmann, and Bea Nettles. Each of these artists stands for introspection, experimentation, and exploration, in that order. These attributes are the catalyst that continue to move me forward on the path of creativity. Knowing that I can trust this process has been a life-affirming force.

Starting with a photographic process, I wind through a malleable path with curiosity for discovery, being, and doing. I am intrigued with transforming imagery by any means at my disposal, be it traditional art and photo methods, digital photo layering, photo transfer on substrates of fine art papers and fabrics, and embellishment of all sorts. Exploring a layered, mixed-media approach, I find a satisfying blend of intuition and technique. My hope is that my art invites the viewer to spend some time in wonder, further completing the work through their own individual perception.
