The Cathedral of St. Paul, together with St. Mark’s Episcopal Church, is committed to working with local organizations to advocate for systemic change within the city of Erie. We are actively building coalitions, developing relationships with other advocacy groups, and working with local government officials.
See below for more details on our work with new Americans.
Work with New Americans
Did you know that Erie Episcopal volunteers each week with both Catholic Charities resettlement programs and USCRI in Erie. Volunteers help with donations; help settle apartments and more. Additionally, Erie Episcopal volunteers assist with the English as a second language classes by being conversation partners. If you are interested in learning more, please contact Mary Ann Ramey.
Helping Our Neighbor’s Place
Our Neighbor’s Place is an overnight shelter that rotates among downtown churches during the winter months. Erie Episcopal will be helping the shelter when it is hosted by First Presbyterian Church of the Covenant (Monday, March 18 & Thursday, March 21). We’re looking for 5 volunteers each evening to pre-pack and serve a meal and other duties. Anyone interested in volunteering can text or call Chris Palattella, 814-460-8484.
You can also help by sponsoring a meal, the cost per meal is $150. If you are interested in sponsoring a meal, contact Carly.
