Spirituality in the Public Square
The second Tuesday of the month we invite you to consider how contemplation and the inner spiritual life find external expression in the world. We hope you will join us for a “teaching” by a local leader engaged in political or social issues in Erie at 6pm. This will be a chance to learn more about what is happening locally to help all members of our city flourish and where we might join in the work.

Then we will move, at 7pm, to Political Evensong. Modeled on the work of Dorothee Sölle, this worship service offers readings, time for conversation, and silence, concluding with concrete calls to action.
We are creating a spiritual community for the work of changing the world.
The teach-in will begin at 6pm, with Political Evensong starting at 7pm.
September 8:
Erin Carey of Groundwork will bring her expertise in eco-justice and introduce the work of her organization as well as other green endeavors in city.
October 13:
Members of the Erie Spiritual Coalition will speak about the importance of a third way into politics, while deepening our understanding of county and city housing policy.
November 10:
Members of Mayor Devlin’s office will lead us in a conversation about new initiatives and progress toward their campaign goals.
December 8:
Kurt Crays of EUMA will talk about his lens on housing and the unhoused and how EUMA works to help individuals struggling with their housing situation.
