Sermons

Fourth Sunday of Easter, April 20

Jesus reveals his identity as the ‘true shepherd’ by beginning with healing, an act of love that brings new sheep into the fold. Likewise, we are called to love in “truth and action.”

Third Sunday of Easter, April 14

When Jesus appears among his disciples after his resurrection, he asks them why they are afraid, and why they doubt.  Often read as Jesus asking for information, perhaps Jesus is actually posing a question for their hearts.

Second Sunday of Easter, April 7

“As the Father sent me, so I send you,” says Jesus towards the end of John’s gospel.  This is the moment Jesus breathes his disciples and send them into the world in the power of the Spirit.  They are participants in God’s mission- just like Jesus.
